Jamaican Independence Celebration at Bavarian Bierhaus


This year will be Jamaica's 61st year of Independence after the Jamaica Independence Act was passed by the United Kingdom Parliament on July 19th 1962. This led to Jamaica being granted independence on August 6th 1962 and was the first time the Jamaican flag was flown.


Join us to celebrate Jamaican Independence with FREE live reggae music, drink specials and delicious Jamaican inspired cuisine at the outdoor Bavarian Biergarten in Old Heidelberg Park in Glendale on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 4 PM to 10 PM.


Enjoy the sights and sounds of over a dozen performers and a King Tubby style sound system with Headway HiFi. Musical performers include: Harshbeats, King Volcano, Press Release, Wadadli, Jd Rankin , Roots Renegades, Ras Amerlock; along with special guests.


In addition to Jamaican drink specials, the Bavarian Bierhaus has a good selection of haus brewed biers, weins (wines), as well as cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase.


This is a family friendly outdoor free event with plenty of room to spread out and social distancing. Kids and dogs (if your dog is friendly) are welcome. No tickets are necessary. Free parking is easy in the large adjacent parking lot. Old Heidelberg Park is conveniently located right off the Oak Leaf bike trail extension and has space to lock up bikes securely.
